Statement of Purpose
In the past 25 years, I have come to a saving personal relationship
with the Lord Jesus Christ, and I have come to the realization that the
meaning and purpose of life is to "seek the Lord, in the hope that (we)
might feel after and find Him, although He is not far from each one of
us", as the Bible says in Acts17:26-27. My testimony is that Jesus is
the Way, the Truth, and the Life, as He has said in John 14:6. If you
don't know Jesus personally as your Lord and Savior. you don't know the
joy and peace that you are missing!
I was raised in the Lutheran Church (ELCA). I came under the influence
and teaching of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa,
CA., and of Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Ministries in Riverside, CA.
in the late 1970's, and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior while I
was a member of the Lutheran Church . I am currently attending a
Southern Baptist Congregation.
The daily lectionaries (schedule of daily readings) which I am using
are: the 2 year Daily Lectionary, p. 179-192, and the 3-year weekly
lectionary, Prayers of the Day, Psalms and Lessons, p. 13-41, from the
Lutheran Book of Worship, Augsburg Publication House, Minneapolis, and
Board of Publications, Lutheran Church in America, Philadelphia, 1978.
